Mike "Behind The Mike" Callahan is a Boston native and grew up listening to Oldies 103 and it was his dream to be a DJ on the station. In the summer of 2018, 6 years after the station flipped formats, Mike was given some of the old jingles (both original Drake88 jingles and JAM jingles from when the station had re-branded in 1997 as Oldies 103.3). As one of the many listeners who were upset over the flip, Mike used his Broadcasting skills that he went to school for and in July of 2018 he created the Oldies 103 FM Boston Podcast in tribute to the former station that was beloved on Boston Airwaves for almost a quarter century! In May of 2020 while furloughed from his job due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike decided to bring the original 50's, 60's and 70's format back online as a 24/7 live stream. The playlist contains over 2,600 songs and is commercial free.

A History of Oldies 103

Oldies 103 started on October 7th 1987. The previous format was Album rock and the call letters were WMRQ. As an Oldies station, the call letters were changed to WODS to reflect the Oldies Format. Between 1987 and 2002, the station had a very deep playlist of rock n roll oldies from 1955-1972. The station would slightly re-brand as Oldies 103.3 after the station celebrated their 10th anniversary on the air. After 2002, the station made some changes and dropped the 50's and pre-1964 oldies and went deeper into the 70's, adding even disco tracks to the playlist. This continued until 2009 when the station once again re-branded as 103.3 WODS and added 80's songs and reduced the number of 60's songs to only a few per hour. On June 28th 2012, the station would flip to Top 40 as Amp 103.3. The Top 40 AMP format was flipped to adult hits , branded as Big 103 on May 29th 2020. The WODS call letters were changed to WBGB and are now parked on a sister station in Hazelton Pennsylvania.
